Our vineyards are located on both sides of the Duero River in the towns of Quintanilla de Tres Barrios, Alcubilla del Marqués, Soto de San Esteban, and San Esteban de Gormaz. Different altitudes and orientations shape the unique character of their grapes.
TERRAIN
San Esteban features a great diversity of soils, the result of its unique topography and geological origin, offering a mosaic of ideal conditions for high-quality viticulture:
Limestone Soils: Dominate many plots, contributing freshness, minerality, and structure to the wines.
Sandy and Loamy-Sandy Soils: Provide excellent drainage and help enhance the aromatic intensity of the grapes.
Soils Poor in Organic Matter: Limit vine vigor, which contributes to greater concentration in the berries.
ALTITUDE
Our vineyards are located at altitudes between 900 and 950 meters above sea level, featuring rugged terrain and natural terraces. This creates an ideal microclimate that, combined with the soil composition, ensures a slow and balanced ripening of the grapes. The downside is that we frequently experience weather events—sometimes catastrophic—such as spring frosts or storm episodes with hail.
