Taruguín 2020

TEMPRANILLO

Taruguín brings together grapes from all our vineyards, on both banks of the Duero River. We work with all the traditional varieties found in our historic vineyards, with a predominance of Tinto Fino. After a slow aging process in both barrel and bottle, this wine reveals its true character over the years — showcasing exceptional minerality and a perfect balance of tannins, acidity, and tertiary aromas.

Description

Production.

The harvest took place at the end of September. We placed the grapes in stainless steel tanks of 1,500 and 2,500 liters, without adding any sulfur. The fermentations occurred spontaneously, without the addition of selected yeasts, with an average maceration period of 12 days. We performed pump-overs and punch-downs at the beginning of the process, with minimal intervention on the cap during the rest of the fermentation.

Maturation.

The wine was racked to remove the largest sediments, while selecting the finer lees to accompany the wine during its aging in used 225-liter French oak barrels. The wine completed a total aging period of 13 months, with rackings twice a year.

Bottling.

Bottling took place in June 2022, with a total production of 6,160 bottles of 0.75 liters.
