Taruguín is a wine rooted in the lands of Soria, born from the shared passion of two friends: Julio, a native of San Esteban de Gormaz, and Nacho, known for his work at the Demencia winery. Since 2010, they have joined forces with a clear goal: to create a wine that captures the essence of the Ribera del Duero in Soria, challenging traditional stereotypes.
Taruguín was born from the desire to offer a fresher and more elegant interpretation of Ribera del Duero, always rooted in the old vineyards of Soria. After several vintages vinifying in Bierzo and confirming the vineyard's potential, they decided to establish a winery in San Esteban de Gormaz, within the “Ribera del Duero” Designation of Origin.
To preserve the traditional vineyard tied to our family roots in the region of San Esteban de Gormaz, with the aim of crafting a wine that reflects the unique characteristics of the local grapes—shaped by distinctive soils, native varieties, and a very particular mesoclimate.
To craft a wine with a distinct international character, suitable for aging, that helps preserve a small but meaningful part of the winemaking legacy of the San Esteban region.
We aim to position our wines as the foremost expression of those representative of San Esteban de Gormaz, working closely and collaboratively with everyone involved in the process.
